THE VIRGINIA YOUTH BALLET PRESENTS A new family holiday tradition THE FIRST ANNUAL NUTCRACKER TEA The Virginia Youth Ballet unfolds its new family holiday tradition on Sunday, November 8, 2009 with the introduction of the first annual Nutcracker Tea. This memorable event will provide a whimsical afternoon of festive celebration of the time-honored Nutcracker ballet in the Virginia Youth Ballet Theatre at 20 W. Cork Street in historic downtown Winchester. Clara and friends will gather at the theatre to share her story. Guests will indulge in special tea time savories accompanied by their choice of tea, coffee or lemonade while enjoying the music of the Nutcracker. After tea, guests will be treated to a reading of the Nutcracker story and a special mini-performance featuring excerpts of “The Nutcracker” ballet. Children will mingle with Nutcracker characters and have their photograph taken with the Sugar Plum Fairy. Under the artistic direction of Gennadi and Susan Vostirkov, the Virginia Youth Ballet is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide the community with cultural, educational and performance opportunities in the art of dance. Don’t miss out on this newest holiday tradition. The enchantment begins at 2:00 p.m. on November 8th. There will only be one seating and space is limited. Tickets for this event are $20.
